Couples Therapy

You’ve likely been through a lot to get to this page. Tense moments, snapping at each other, feeling like you have the same arguments again and again. Like no matter how many different times you try to communicate clearly, you are missing each other. You may feel like you’re “tip-toeing” around, or that certain topics are just “off-limits.”

You miss feeling like you’re on the same team, of having a best friend, a lover. The spark that brought you together feels quite distant now. Or maybe it is still there but constantly being threatened by issues related to trust, avoidance, or the stress of juggling all of life’s demands.

Loneliness, disconnection and frustration have culminated and you're ready to ask for help.

Whether one of you feels more confident asking for support or you’re both fully aligned, this was not an easy step. Vulnerability in relationships is hard, and asking a third party to help can be even scarier. But therapy can create a safe space for that vulnerability again.

A happy relationship isn’t a destination you arrive at once.

Relationships are dynamic, complex, and evolving all the time. However, with the attention of therapy, you can re-build a stronger foundation from which to grow and evolve, and continue to work together to make sure your differences and complexities are a source of connection and true partnership.

I utilize an Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) framework, one of the most widely researched and evidenced-based treatments to support couples in strengthening their relationships.

Together we can help you to:

  • Change the dynamic that you feel stuck in.

  • Decrease the intensity of your frustration, sadness, and anger.

  • Communicate more openly and clearly, in a way that will land with your partner.

  • Find the validation you crave.

  • Feel connected and on the same team again.

  • Rebuild trust, intimacy, and the foundation of security that can help you feel better as individuals and in a relationship.

How it Works

Step 1

Schedule a free 15 minute consultation call. If you feel comfortable scheduling an initial intake appointment after our call, we will schedule our first session.

Step 2

Once an initial appointment is confirmed, I will send you an invitation to my electronic medical record, Simple Practice, where you can fill out basic information to expedite our intake process.

Step 3

After our first appointment, we will spend the next three sessions completing the assessment process. I will meet with you together, individually, and then together again to provide feedback, come up with mutually agreed upon goals, and discuss an initial plan to help create the relationship you want. I recommend an initial weekly cadence for our sessions.
